In the July 15, 2021, DOJ press release, the Denver Grand Jury has indicted both DaVita, Inc. and the former CEO, Kent Thiry. The charges are related to a conspiracy to deprive workers of “free-market opportunities”. The indictment describes an anti-poaching agreement with Surgical Care Affiliates LLC from 2012 to 2017 which was designed to prevent each company from recruiting senior-level employees.
