Federal health officials will extend the COVID-19 public health emergency past mid July, which will continue the pandemic-era policies as coronavirus cases increase again. HHS has renewed the COVID-19 public health emergency through October 13, 2022. The PHE provides Americans with free COVID-19 vaccines, therapeutics and test-ing, it provides added flexibility for services such as telehealth, and it means states are not involuntarily disenrolling Medicaid beneficiaries.
