One of the items in the CMS signature update information has been brought forward to the Fact Sheet on Medicare Signature Requirements. This addition addresses the changes to the requirements when partici-pating in Graduate Medical Education as an attending physician or NPP.
“If you rely on the medical student’s docu-mentation, it’s unnecessary to re-document the E/M service, but you must review and verify (sign and date) the student’s medical record entry.”
